Art and Outrage

About scandals in Paris, Kassel and Eckernförde

Whether it’s a major outrage or a minor shitstorm, art is an excellent arena for debates about morality, political correctness and good taste. Norbert Weber talks about works of art that have triggered public protests, political debates or even investigations by public prosecutors. Using the example of scandals in Paris, Kassel and Eckernförde, it is made clear that such offences can cause outrage from the metropolis to the small town.

The stones of offence may be hidden in hidden object paintings by Hieronymus Bosch in the Museo del Prado or the agitation art of Taring Padi at the documenta, all are tracked down and subjected to a merciless dispute.

On Saturday, 9 December at 12:30 we will get to the bottom of the matter.
