Once, the wind in a tunnel whispered a love story of a mountain

On June 1, 2024 at 12:30 pm, an international artist couple will present their work after the market.

Yen Chun Lin and Gediminas Žygus explore auditory perception, resonances of unexplored spaces, and self-revelation within intimate settings. Together, they created a shared body of research by listening to rhythm, melodies, and memories hidden within noise, attempting to sense the stories of the environment and other dimensions.

In a research-sharing session, they will share their explorative relationship with “nature” through sound. In this listening session, they will present the findings on documenting the sensual and rhythmic, hearing ourselves mirrored within nature, hearing the intimacies of other beings, and questioning the distinction between humans and nature.

Yen Chun Lin (b. 1990, Taiwan) lives and works among states of falling, falling asleep, falling awake, and falling (into) unknown. With the company of a dragonfly whom Yen met through collective dreaming, they explore silence, darkness, dust, whispers, vulnerability, and love together. By tuning into subtlety and the imperceptible, they encounter spirit(s) in co-existing realms quietly, without disturbing them. Their curiosities are materialized in the form of installations involving sculptural soundscapes, performances, collaborations, and stories.

Gediminas Žygus (b. 1991, Lithuania, based in Berlin) practice explores viscerality and narrative design. Revolving around performances, albums, and short films, Gediminas’s work has been performed and featured globally, including recently at the Barbican Centre, Berghain, La Biennale di Venezia, Centre Pompidou, Haus der Kunst in Munich, ICA London, Palais De Tokyo, The Kitchen, and Unsound, among others. Gediminas holds a Master’s in Film, Design, and Politics from the Sandberg Instituut in Amsterdam.

Admission is free.
