Market Review at 20.01.2024: Isabell Schulte – Part I-XI
Saturday, 20 January 2024 12:30 pm – otte1 Residency
Otte1 invites you to an encounter with one of our current scholarship holders this week. Isabell Schulte captures time and movement in her large-format drawings, some impressions will be presented on Saturday.
Each of the more than six square metre sheets begins with a basic melody. From this notation, the artist develops a graphic vocabulary that combines rhythm and harmony to create extremely dense structures.
Since 2018, she has been working on one of these large drawings over a period of several months. The working process is dictated by the surface of the image carrier, which measures several square metres.
Unrolled on the studio floor, Schulte kneels on the paper and follows the movement of various elements across the sheet.
Be curious.
