Johanna Ploch: Illustrations – Drawings – Comics – Ceramics

On Saturday 13 June at 12.30 pm, our scholarship holder Johanna Ploch will open an exhibition of her work.

As part of the Meeresrausch Festival, our scholarship holder Johanna Ploch is exhibiting drawings, illustrations and ceramics created during her stay in Eckernförde.

Johanna Ploch’s work moves between moving images, drawing, comics and ceramics, and presents the everyday realities of modern life in a blunt, humorous and sometimes absurd manner. She likes colourful combinations and authentic personalities. Her main focus lies in observing various characters and situations, which serve as inspiration for her picture stories.
She tells stories of goats eating pom pears and cows drinking their own milk.

Johanna lives in Hamburg and publishes her drawings in various publications, including ZEIT-Magazin, the FAZ, the taz, Der Spiegel and many more.
