Aftermarket Reading with Olivia Kuderewski

After publishing two novels, “Lux” (2021) and “Haha Heartbreak” (2022), Olivia Kuderewski is devoting herself to a new project: a German-Polish family and late resettlement story.

“The theme of self-empowerment runs as a thread through my writing” – says the Berlin author, who is working on her third book as a scholarship holder at the Eckernförder Künstlerhaus from October to December.

While “Lux” was about “deconstructing formative images of freedom and the USA”, “Haha Heartbreak” was about female self-determination and “breaking free from toxic relationship structures”, she now plans to “retrace this emancipatory approach in a family history” – the history of her own family, which moved from Poland to the Federal Republic in the 1980s.

In the Marktnachlese, Olivia Kuderewski reads mainly passages from previous publications. At another reading as part of the “Long Night of Literature” on 11 November, the focus will be on her current project entitled “Overintegrated”.

For the beginning of December, she is planning a literature workshop together with Rainer Beuthel on the topic of “Approaching autobiographical writing”, also based on existing texts by participants. A separate invitation to this workshop will be sent out soon.

14.10.2023, starting at 12.30 p.m. Admission is free.
