Artist residency: Scholarships
The Otte1 artist residency – named after its location at Ottestr. 1 in Eckernförde, Germany – is a place for research, artistic work and international encounters. It supports professional artists at various stages of their career.
After selection by a jury, the board of the circle of friends otte1 – Schleswig-Holsteinisches Künstlerhaus awards annual scholarships from the Ministry of Education, Science and Culture of the State of Schleswig-Holstein – subject to coverage by the state budget.
Applications are open to professional artists from the fields of visual arts, music composition and literature. The scholarships are awarded as three-month work and residency scholarships. Applications are accepted online only. A concrete project does not necessarily have to be proposed; research and the development of project approaches are also eligible for funding. The Künstlerhaus does not dictate content to the artists. If necessary, members of the association with extensive curatorial experience can support the artists.
Four individual studios/living spaces are available rent-free and the scholarship holders also receive financial support of 1,000 euros per month.
